Private Sector Labour Law No. 6 of 2010 — Law No. 6 of 2010
Text and explanation of Article 51
Article 51 provides that a monthly-paid worker earns fifteen days' wage for each of the first five years of service, and one full month's wage for each year after that, capped at one and a half years' wage.
Daily, weekly, hourly and piece-rate workers earn ten days' wage for each of the first five years, then fifteen days for each year after, capped at one year's wage.
Part years count pro rata. For example, a worker on 600 dinars a month whose employer ends the contract after eight years is owed seventy-five days for the first five years (about 1,500 dinars), plus three months' wage for the next three years (1,800 dinars) — a total of about 3,300 dinars.
